Ep. 84: Celebrating In The Snow - Eagle Rare Single Barrel and El Tequileño 50th Anniversary Añejo

Pull up a seat and join the Boys as they pair up a couple of bottles that are worth celebrating. Did you know that the Eagle Rare name is fifty years old this year? Well, the Uncertified Whiskey Hunter knows and he’s excited to talk about it. Drew found a real ‘dusty’ on the shelf and it celebrates the 50 years of the El Tequileño distillery. 
It’s no coincidence that it’s getting close to Christmas, and these spirits are loaded with some sweet and spice and everything nice to warm your bellies and put a glow on your cheeks.
You might have a hard time finding these bottles, but that shouldn’t stop you from grabbing a whiskey and a tequila and sitting down and hanging with the Boys for a spell.

Ep. 83: Black Friday Beauties: Bardstown Bourbon Single Barrel and Maracame Tequila Plata

For this Black Friday Episode, the boys sip on Maracame Tequila Plata and a Bardstown Bourbon Single Barrel from the Sycamore Whiskey Club. One bottle had been on Drew’s shelf for 4 years, and the other bottle had been on Matt’s shelf for 4 days.
As usual, the conversation wanders between relevant and random things like the new Agave Matchmaker app to RoboCop and beyond.

For this Happy Friday, Matt brings a single barrel pick in collaboration with Malloy’s Finest and the Wheaton Whisky Club from the great state of Colorado. Drew brings a reposado that is anything other than “standard” from the great NOM 1123. 
They tangent a little with some current spirits news, with nothing more than some opinions and well wishes. When they finally get to the QuickSips™ - well - you’ll just have to listen to find out.

For this Beginner Buy the Boys pair a bourbon Matt cut his teeth on as a young whiskey wanderer - Jim Beam Black (now a 7 year aged stated bourbon) and a tequila Drew discovers has a mistaken label - Tequila Cultura 100 Reposado (actually 86 proof but with an original 80 proof label).
You may need to turn your volume up when the boys get a live FaceTime call while recording from Brad Niccum of Taste Tequila with Brad, while they try to solve the mystery of the mistaken label. Ep. 77: Ack-Ack-Ack - featuring Copper & Cask Armagnac Barrel Finished Whiskey and El Gran Legado De Vida Tequila Reposado finished in Cognac barrels

The Boys finally pair the remaining Great Lakes Tequila Club pick with a whiskey, and it definitely gets adventurous. Matt talks way too much about a type of whiskey that he is not that fond of (Canadian) while Drew reveals he knows too much about Costco’s rotisserie chicken profits.
If you stick to the end, you might hear the boys sip on some things that are not exactly whiskey and not exactly tequila. Something in the future, maybe?
