Ep. 98: Willett or Won't It? featuring Rowan’s Creek Straight Kentucky Bourbon and Yeyo Tequila Mission 1530 Anejo

Happy Friday!  For this show, The Boys celebrate a great tequila bottle, the Yeyo Tequila Mission 1530 Anejo, that did great things through the Tequila That Cares Foundation to raise money for a school in Arandas. This anejo was finished for a short time in Willett Purple Top Barrels. For the whiskey, they pair it with Rowan’s Creek, a bottle that is definitely not a Purple Top, but is rather an everyday Willett bottle that can be found anywhere. 
Drew rants about influencers, about the tequila fans who complain about influencers, and about disruptors that need to apparently just get him his coffee. Matt rants about expensive bottles and laughs at Drew’s rants.
Both of these bottles are good examples of how you need to crack open the bottle to get some air in there before you give it your final judgment. Listen to the end for the QuickSips™ that impress both of them.

Ep. 97: A Beautiful Blind Blanco BONUS!! With Tierra de Ensueno and Arte NOM 1123

Happy Friday, y'all!  For this show, The Boys set themselves up blind for two Blanco pours: the Tierra de Ensueno Blanco and Arte NOM 1123 Blanco.
Both of these expressions were briefly aged in barrels that had other spirits, both are around the same proof, and both are around the same-ish price.
Can the boys pick out the 1123? Can they pick their favorite of the two? Can they discover the true definition of “Bootylicious?” You’ll have to listen to find out.

Ep. 96: Sip Around and Find Out with Rossville Union Straight Rye Whiskey ABV Barrel Shop Single Barrel and Cambio Tequila Anejo Cellar Series #1 El Desliz

Sometimes The Boys come across some special bottles that by themselves bring a good story, a lot of flavor, and a lot of NUANCE.  And when they QuickSip™ them together, it’s even more special. 
This rye whiskey from Ross & Squibb Distillery is a Single Barrel from the ABV Barrel Shop in Arnold, MO with a ton of fruit flavors and great complexities. The tequila from Cambio Tequila represents the first of their Cellar Series - a limited release program with unique expressions.
Stay for the stories and laugh with the lads. You might not find these exact bottles, but you can certainly find a whiskey, a tequila, a friend, maybe a pressed fruit bowl memory and a moment to sit back and sip along and Make It A Happy Friday!™ Salud!

Ep. 95: Just a QuickSip™ Flex with Tierra de Ensueno Blanco Tequila and Glenmorangie 12 Year Single Malt

For this fantastic Friday episode, The Boys pair up a new Blanco that they tasted recently at an event with a Single Malt that Matt was able to pull out of his sense-memory. Ass-signment completed! Did he nail the flavors? Did he accurately recall the notes to nail the QuickSip™? You will have to listen to find out.
The ending reveals a little whiskey news, the middle tangents at a fairly regular level, and the tasting notes are as elaborate as always.

Ep. 94: Hedonistic Herbaceousness featuring Sazerac Rye 125 Proof and Centinela Reposado (Tall Bottle)

Welcome, and Happy Friday!  The Boys are enjoying their Friday talking about alternatives to getting a Handy and the glory of old shelf bottles of tequila… it’s probably not what you think.
Matt brings a fairly newer bottle - Sazerac Rye 125 proof.
Drew brings a bottle of Centinela Reposado - the “tall bottle” from the early 2000’s (or older?).
Find the moment where Matt dismisses Drew’s opinions, and the moment where Drew shares his tequila origins story (and later, some intestinal tendencies).
They don’t know for sure if the Sazerac Rye 125 is a viable alternative to a Thomas H. Handy BTAC Rye, and they don’t know if Centinela Reposado has additives. All they know is that they like them. Isn’t that enough?

The Octomore 15.1 Islay Single Malt is high-proof, loaded with peat smoke (108 ppm) and tons of flavor. The 110 proof Villa Lobos Blanco is full of passion, history, and amazing flavors.

Ep. 92: Isn’t That (also) Special?: Heaven Hill Bottled In Bond Single Barrel & Loco Tequila Blanco

For this show, The Boys pair up a bottle you might find in the Chicago Suburbs, with a bottle you might only find in Texas or California… for now. The Heaven Hill 7 Year Bottled In Bond Single Barrel is a collaboration with the Bourbon Belly Hospitality Group and the Wheaton Whisky Club. The Loco Tequila Blanco is a fairly limited, fairly luxury brand from the well known NOM 1123. When they sip them, you will clearly see how Matt loves everything Heaven Hill, and how Drew loves a quality made Blanco tequila. For today’s episode, The Boys are sipping on 3 blanco tequila’s poured blind out of a possible 5 bottles, plus an extra 4th glass at the end.
After tasting and rating and guessing, the reveal is surprising and rewarding as always.
For the fourth glass, Drew challenges Matt’s palate with an interesting spirit that Drew poured without Matt’s knowledge.
